We have chosen this day to honor you
For we desire that you would know
Of the genuine love and appreciation
We have in our hearts for you So.
You are such a rare gift to uS
Wrapped and sent in an angel’s disguise
And what you have leaves us at awe
For the servants heart you have is the perfect size.
You may be humble and say “Oh no
And perhaps feel a bit out of place
But there is no mistaking this we tell you
For we all have benefited from your grace.
You have no idea of knowing
Of all the lives you have touched and blessed
You have no idea, unless we speak
the Of gratitude and love for you our hearts possess.
You have given so much to so many
And taken nothing in return
And with this day we honor you
For all the things from your life we have learned.
We have learned to keep going and to be strong
We have learned to help others and be humble
We have learned to strive to do better
And we have learned to get up when we ‘ve stumbled.
We have watched you through these few years
Seeing the Christ-likeness that you bear
Admiring you for these fine traits
Knowing that these qualities are quite rare.
You have been a role model for so many
Because of your strength and the stand that you take
We see that living for God is best and rewarding
We see through your life His mercy and grace.
A woman of great character we see before US
A mother with a gentle but firm embrace
A wife of great love and loyalty
A sister in Christ with courage and faith.
So today we ‘ve opened the door of our hearts
